During the week that GM was testing vehicles I charged my Hummer twice on June 14 with my adapter, once initiating with my Ford app and the other with the Tesla app. Nice thing about the Ford app is that it supports all the major networks and can be used with any EV. Hoping GM heads in that direction. Just as an example, Shell Recharge opened some new L2 chargers in my area and they are free. I did not have the Shell app, but was able to initiate the charge using my Ford app, without having to set up a Shell account.

If you use the Tesla membership, you will have to initiate with the Tesla app, not the GMC app.

I think you have to order it through the updated app which hasn't been updated yet. At least that's what we've been told. It's likely how they'll gate access to adapters, active VIN linked to your app.

Looks like GMC first followed by Cadillac and Chevy
Looks like the linked in post got deleted, was the person who posted it a gm employee?

No it's The Network Architects Linkedin profile

Welp I checked GMC's website and the language is back to how it was before... Another False Start?

EDIT: The Language changes depending on if you view this website from Mobile or Desktop. LOL

Here's hoping someone on the web dev was a little trigger happy and they're just going to do a better job synchronizing the launch. I'm not surprised they screwed up the rollout.

It is still up on the GMC Hummer page. And how did I charge yesterday if Tesla did not open it up?

Yes this is all confusing as it shows that only for me on mobile but on desktop it's back to the old wording...
Also how you were able to charge I'm not disputing that but GM hasn't even made an official announcement about this besides that one change on the site. It could be another test.
I want GM to clarify this as soon as possible.

I'd love us to have official access.

You can initiate the charge using the Tesla app (register as Ford / Rivian) similar to how you would if you had a membership plan and wanted to take advantage of the lower rates.

I am able to initiate a charge in Arizona while sitting in Texas.

While it is true you can activate the charger from the Tesla app, they were blocking the GM MAC addresses (and all others except Ford and Rivian), except during the specific OEM testing phase. The Tesla app would come back and state vehicle is not authorized.

I will go to another Tesla site today and try again. It would be interesting if someone else with an adapter could try charging their Hummer at Tesla. I know others were blocked after I had been successful last month.

I plan to rent a Hummer EV on Turo this week and for the weekend to test it out using the official Ford adapter and the current A2Z Typhoon adater.

I will try to make a road trip to 2 Tesla Supercharger sites like Buc-ees and Pilot Gas Station with a BBQ and Fuzzy Tacos.

Ford just announced delays in their adapter shipments. I wonder if the inability to get adapters is impacting the timeline for activating access. Kind of pointless if they can’t get adapters. Tom from State of Charge said GM is actively trying to get the Lectron adapter approved for use, likele because they know the official Tesla adapters just aren’t going to be available.

Just received the A2Z Typhoon adapter. That little bugger is heavy. I like the carrying case. Now for GM and Tesla to join hands and open the network.

When I was in for service on Friday, the parts manager gave me the instructions for ordering the adapter when it is available. You will have to purchase it thru the app. The picture on the pamphlet looks just like the Lectron or A2Z adapter. Will be interesting to see what one looks like. More waiting to see if they announce anything.
