does the bigger front make a big difference since there are the little ones already? I figured the tires splash mostly backwards when you drive forward
Yes, it definitely seems like the mud flaps help. Before, I would find lots of road dirt, etc. up on the fender flare. I noticed this especially when it rained. Now, it mostly just wet. Which tells me the mud flaps are diverting the road debris away from the truck and the fender flare is mainly getting only rain. I don't want to give the impression that they stay totally clean, this is not that. Just to say they definitely do their job.

Installed my cross bars today. Had to cut the little side rail covers with a Dremel to expose the anchor points. When you cut it out, looks rough, but the anchors cover it all up.

How hard would it be to remove the bed cross rails if you need something tall in the bed, and would you be left with that area that you cut exposed? It seems like those should have been pop out plugs... I am curious about the roof rails as well as to the ease of removing them when not needed

There is one screw to be removed at each attach point. This is what it looks like with bars removed. These base pieces get installed permanently, in fact I used red loctite on those bolts.

I looked at the roof mounts, they have a cover installed with one bolt, so you remove that bolt and cover, then reuse the bolt for the cross bars. Basically identical to the bed cross bars, but no need to do any cutting, and no mounting plate to be added.

I did the BED RAILS as well, and really love them...I used a box cutter, and ended up with better edges than the Dremel, but yes, it doesn't matter, it's all covered up. I also prefer the look of the rails, as I've always thought the profile of the truck was a hair out of balance.

The downside of the rails is I also have the BED EXTENDER, which has to be dis-attached and flipped depending on if I want it inward or outward. It's super easy to do, just a little awkward. The Bed Extender is probably my favorite add on, as cargo (groceries, kids backpacks, etc.) doesn't shift to the bulkhead all the time.

I installed the new mud flaps and am pleasantly surprise with them. I don't live in an area with snow but they do seem to help with road debris. The front mud flaps are wide enough to almost completely cover the debris being thrown from those front tires.
Does a lot of dirt/debris build up in the inside or? Or does it mostly get deflected?

So you can flip the bed extender inside and outside without removing the bed rails? . .
Sorry for the slow reply. I never saw your initial question. No unfortunately you have to dis-attach the bed extender, flip it over, and reattach. It also doesn't fully lock in the inward position, as you have to angle the attachments with the tailgate locks, which the crossbars prohibit you from doing. It primarily stays in place just resting there...It does lock in the extended (outward) position.

I purchased the larger factory front flaps, and the rear ones. The rear ones help a lot, the larger front ones also, but, IMO, they should have been manufactured a bit larger. Now, GM needs to make better ones for the front of the rear wheels, and, a heavy duty thick rubber bed mat. Dee Products makes nice ones, but, not for the Hummer EV unfortunately
Thanks for sharing your insights! I completely agree—having larger front flaps would definitely enhance protection. It’s interesting to hear that the rear flaps have made a noticeable difference for you! Hopefully, GM will consider feedback like yours for future improvements, especially on the front of the rear wheels.

Be aware that cover plate should stay in place when installing the roof bars. The mount for the roof bar is keyed to align with the bumps on the cover plate. Also found that tightening the two screws on the passenger (slotted) side of the bar stops all of the rattling.

Just got mine a week ago. So far I purchased an all weather cargo mat and a frunk mat. Both GM products…. There is snow where I live, so I’m thinking about the wider mud flaps to keep the spray off the vehicle, but I‘m not sure about the the looks of the larger flaps…
Hi, did you ever find any mud flaps or fender flares? I've got the factory flaps and every time I drive down the street any small trickle in the gutter wets the whole side of the vehicle! I've gotten a couple of paint chips on the rear wheels flairs too. Thanks

I also installed the larger mud flaps, front and rear. they are REQUIRED. esp if you got aftermarket wheels tires like me (0.5" wider than stock.)

The side of the trucks isnt destroyed every time i drive now\
Love to see a pic of those. I have the larger flaps apparently and they don't stop anything. It's kind of ridiculous.
