Just did the bulletin and thanks to you guys sharing the link to the actual bulletin, added pics and info I was done in 30 minutes flat. Thank you very much for sharing as I hate going to the dealer unless I absolutely have to....HaHa! Thanks again fellas, much appreciated!
Hi,

where can I find the bulletin and photos. My Sky Panels are rattling like crazy.

or could you text me?
Todd Petzoldt: 949-500-3693

thank you!!

Could I bother you for one additional question.
I’m setting my home up for charging. Do you recommend the GMC charger or possibly one from Amazon?

Two weeks ago I installed the washer service bulletin and still had minor residual pops and moans when left parked in the sun for several hours. It has been 90s every day in South Florida. Several members on the forum recommended using shrink wrap on the pins. I can confirm that it virtually eliminate's any and all residual pops and moans. It is near silent now. I waited 3 days to fully observe and test results before posting my findings. Here are some photos of my install to aid others if they attempt it themselves. I used 3/4" x 3/4" shrink wrap.
In my opinion, The shrink rap acts as a cushion to lessen the friction between the post and the female receptacle. This results in less moaning and popping and provides a better cabin experience.
Thanks to all who contributed on this thread. Greatly appreciate all of you.

The rattles in this vehicle are getting horrible. It seems when the sky panels heat up they rattle over every turn, or bump in the road.

Has anyone else experienced this and figured out a solution?
My service guy told me there is a Bulletin to apply washers within the I Bar pocket receivers to stop the sound from the panels in the rear.

You obviously aren’t in NC every time I take my truck in to get serviced they break something else 🤔

Took it in two weeks ago because the roof panels leak and there was a software update.

After a week they finally figured out the software update but now the tonneau cover will not retract and the panels still leak.
I just received my 2024 back for leaking roof panels as well, not happy this wasn’t addressed Prior to delivery!

Would you mind plz posting Amazon link to the shrink wrap. How did you heat it? With a blow dryer?

Thanks to everyone for putting this thread together. I did not want to go to the dealer so I did this myself last night. Took an hour-ish start to finish. Did the washer add, lube, heat shrink rubber on pins. Greatly improved (if not eliminated) the rattles.

I didn't notice much of a difference when I put the lube. The biggest difference for me was the shrink wrap on the pins it seemed to cushion the metal on metal. What's your take?

Unfortunately it was a poorly designed experiment as I did all the interventions at the same time and didn’t test each independently.

I’m no engineer so I can’t tell what “rattle value” the lube is adding. Seems to me the washer and rubber are likely contributing most to the rattle reduction.

I think it's to reduce friction. This is a part the will see movement all the time as you take it off and put it back in the sockets.

I did the washers first, it reduced the rattle, but did not eliminate it. I di apply some lube at that time. Adding the heat shrink completely eliminated it. It could be that applying the heat shrink works by itself. The impression I have it that it is the metal to metal rubbing of the pin that caused the noise.
