Can anyone recommend a lubricant for rubber gaskets?
I am trying this one, because it works for window and door seals, so should be safe on the rubber.

You obviously aren’t in NC every time I take my truck in to get serviced they break something else 🤔

Took it in two weeks ago because the roof panels leak and there was a software update.

After a week they finally figured out the software update but now the tonneau cover will not retract and the panels still leak.

I am using the GM Dielectric grease on the seals. I did this with some past Corvettes I had squeak issues with and it worked great. Does not harm the seals. I used it on the window seals as well and it helps to keep the seal pliable and cut down on some wind noise.

Do you have the part number for the grease?

Genuine GM Fluid 12345579 Dielectric Silicone Grease - 1 oz. You can get it on Amazon or any GM dealer. I have used it on my wife's 2008 Trailblazer SS since new and the seals are in great shape.
In the description it states "May be used as weather strip lubricant".

Genuine GM Fluid 12377900 Dielectric Lubricant - 2 oz. I use the 1 oz size and it lasts a long time.

I did the washer update yesterday and 0 rattle now. I did not apply anything to the seals. I'm sure it wouldn't hurt and may be needed periodically as things age but just doing the washers made a significant difference. Took less than 30 minutes to do the whole thing. Would probably take 15 minutes to do it a second time.

What washers did you use?

The tonneau just lost calibration since they disconnect the battery during the software updates. Open a door on the truck to keep it unlocked and then hold both buttons on the cover until it starts the calibration. I will open and close a few times and be fine.

Yes we've had two tonneau covers.
They are junk when at their best.
We have the check motor light come on and it won't charge. It comes on everyday. I'm afraid to even take it there, gmc that is.. I guess they can certainly keep the miles down on it.
They had it 4 days for the tonneau cover. They said they did the update that time but it still comes on everyday and won't charge. I know they say it is free but they don't know what they are doing at all.
Good luck

I did the TSB myself this weekend on my SUV and completely eliminated the rattles. I still get the wind noise above about 45 mph, but this is to be expected with Polycarbonate panels with no sound deadening. My recently delivered SUT has no rattles from the factory.

The rattles in this vehicle are getting horrible. It seems when the sky panels heat up they rattle over every turn, or bump in the road.

Has anyone else experienced this and figured out a solution?
I have the solid panels. I live in south florida and it's getting worse with the heat if parked.
Is this recommended fix for solid panels as well?
