Thanks for sharing this update with us.

It’s always nice to have reliable charging options on the go.

I’ve had good luck finding lots of open/reliable chargers at station like Buc-ee’s or shopping centers.

A2Z EV has recently released their updated Typhoon Pro NACS to CCS1 adapter with improved latching mechanism to make it more user friendly.

It’s available to order now with 1 week delivery time for $168 shipped using forum discount code “GMC”.

A2Z EV Tesla Supercharger Adapter for Hummer EV - Save 15% / Free Shipping + bundle the A2Z Stellar AC Tesla to J-1772 adapter for $72 additional after discount code "GMC".

I have personally bought this adapter and tested it against the original Typhoon Pro and the OEM Tesla adapter at multiple Tesla superchargers across Texas, Missouri and Oklahoma with no issues to report.

They all work great and beats having to use Electrify America. The most user friendly is the Typhoon pro due to the single switch to control the CCS side and NACS side. I also like how easy it is to hold the Typhoon pro securely. The lip on the NACS side is a nice touch to make sure the adapter doesn’t slip out of your hand.

The OEM Tesla dual latch is a little more user friendly compared to original Typhoon (discontinued) but a little harder to grip securely while toggling both the latches. I think grip tape might be nice to have as long as it doesn’t mess with thermals.

If you need one ASAP in 1 week time you can always order the A2Z Typhoon Pro Level 3 DCFC adapter using the forum discount code "GMC", one of the most popular adapters currently being used by Rivian owners, F-150 lightning owners and Mustang Mach-E owners.

You can bundle the A2Z Stellar AC Tesla to J-1772 adapter for Hotel Destination charger (commonly found at Hotels, Airbnb, Shopping centers and Parking lots) for $72 additional after discount by using the drop down on the Typhoon Pro page to get both adapters.

Appreciate the repost Azbill. That’s helpful.

The charge rate constraint in your graph is due to Tesla’s present 480V architecture isn’t it?

Looking forward to the future prevalence of the V4 systems with full 800V, 350kW outputs. Can’t beat Tesla’s availability and uptime in my area.

My second charge today was at an EA site that was full when I arrived, then a car left one of the 150kw stations jsut as I got there. That charge was from 20% to 60% and the rate just stayed right above 170kw the entire time. The average I got on the Tesla charger was 166kw. So basically charging at a Tesla station at 400V is equal to charging on an 800V 150kw CCS station.

First supercharging session. Plugged in around 50% for a quick 20% add on for a comfortable cushion. Plugged in, was pulling 175ish, left, got a sandwich, looked outside about 15 minutes later and the charging indicator lights were off. Checked my phone, Tesla app said there was a problem charging to replug in or move to another stall. No error messages on Hummer and I didn't get a "charging interrupted message from the GMC app or anything". It was enough to get home so I just unplugged and drove home. Ambient temps in the low 90s and the chargeport side of the truck was in the sun. Adapter wasn't too hot to touch, just warm like it had been sitting in the sun, higher than ambient obviously. Supercharger fans were still running FULL blast when I went out about 10 minutes after it stopped.
