My omega edition just got nail in tire, I took it to discount tire , they said this is a Beadlock wheel it will take more time to fix flat and we do not have bolt pattern or torque specs for beadlock. Ask me if I had tool to remove bolts.
I told them it was a decorative trim , not a Functioning Beadlock.
They called gmc dealer and they told them there is no torque specs for decorative beadlock trim.
They removed Beadlock , repaired tire and I had them swap with spare tire until I could take to gmc service.
Then they checked Beadlock on spare tire and it was different.
the Beadlock was not pressing against the tire bead. It was attached to wheel only .very odd!
I thought all of the Beadlock capable wheels on the omega edition are the same, including spare tire? I know spare does not have tpms Sensor.
made gmc service appointment to get these wheels checked .ugh

The shop manager invited me into the shop to see that they had to remove carbon flash decorative ring from gloss black Beadlock wheel, with all those bolts ,to remove tire. They were not familiar with this type of wheel, since I told them it was only Beadlock capable and you had to purchase from GM the functioning Beadlock part for off road only.
l was more concerned that they did not have bolt pattern with torque specs so
I had them use the spare tire since I knew it also had the gloss black Beadlock wheel with carbon flash decorative ring., only problem is carbon flash decorative ring on spare tire is not bolted with the tire bead between the ring and wheel, It is bolted to wheel.
I will find out more next week when I take Hummer EV to my gmc dealer. My gmc service advisor said there is a bolt pattern and torque spec for those bolts that attach ring to wheel.

Yes, the decorative ring is bolted between the tire bead and the wheel. All four decorative rings are the same on all four original delivery tires, only the spare tire has the ring bolted directly to wheel. I can not see any tire bead . l checked the window sticker and it says dealer installed? Did the dealer make a mistake? Poor training , no training?
l have 5800 miles on the vehicle, it’s time to visit dealer and have them inspect immediately.
Thank you for replies.

Those folks with omega editions may want to inspect your gloss black Beadlock capable wheels with carbon fiber decorative rings

When you say mounted normally , this means the decorative ring is bolted to the wheel, and tire bead is not touching this ring.
Ill be at dealer this afternoon. More updates to follow.
Somehow the tires are holding air , which would be my biggest concern, and that the ring has not caused any damage to the tire bead.
Thank you for fast reply.

I believe these 4 tires were mounted incorrectly at the dealer , after looking at the spare tire ,seems its the only one mounted correctly, with the decorative ring bolted to wheel.
Someone has some explaining to do.

Scary! , I am not sure how these tires are still on the wheels after 5800 miles ?
All bolts are still on. Thank goodness

I appreciate the article and fast replies. Thank you very much

Thank you for the reply, I do have the reddit post, I have inspected my rings and they all have bolts.
This will be interesting since the original selling dealership is in Florida and I purchased the vehicle in Texas. One owner and owned for one month, 2700 miles. Delivered in Aug 2024.
All the warranties did transfer to me. I purchased in Dec 2024 3600 miles

Hummer EV is safely at gmc service, both the service advisor and technician surprised the decorative rings lasted so long. This could have been a disaster, with blowout at highway speed.
I will update status once they check with regional GMC rep.

That’s exactly what the gmc technician stated, there is no way to safely torque those decorative bolts too. It’s just a miracle there was no problems like the person in Canada who experienced the ring failure.

Hummer is still in service , waiting for new decorative rings and bolts.Fortunately the tire bead was not compromised when the decorative ring was bolted over it. Rings were bent, and some bolts showed signs of stress. While in service they did radio update. The Onstar antenna needs to be replaced too.

Hummer technician said it failed. Have to order replacement. Not sure what the failure is only that the onstar light kept flashing red light, alert system stated emergency call only.

Hello , I am still waiting for resolution, since the original dealer , who installed the tires to beadlock capable wheels is working with my dealer to make things right. I’m not sure if I will get those damaged rings returned to me , they may need to submit to regional GM service manager. I know I read they are not functioning bead lock rings,(or bolts), so they are not made to support tire beads off roading.

Copy, I’ll keep u posted, I am still waiting on replacement rings , fortunately the tires did not get damaged. The technician did say they torqued the sh… out of those decorative bolts and they have to be replaced too. It’s a miracle they did not fail.

FollowUp to the beadlock ring saga, my Dealership ordered part number 85044737, beadlock carbon flash decorative rings with new bolts. The ring has 24 drilled holes for the bolts, unfortunately 8 of the holes have dummy torx bolt heads only.(bolts do not have holes in the wheel to secure )They are fake. The ring has only 16 real bolts that secure the ring to the wheel. Now the service technician is in a pickle since he can secure the ring with the 16 bolts, but the ring will have 8 open bolt holes . The fake bolts are pressed on the ring like a rivet. No idea how they are going to secure a real bolt to the 8 open holes on the ring. The fake bolt heads are on the inner edge of the ring.

I just found out yesterday , i believe you can feel the back of the fake bolts , before you try to remove them and snap the bolt off. From what I have learned from the service tech , the rim has 24 holes for the bolts , u only use 16 bolts to secure outer edge of decorative ring to rim

Yes, unfortunately the dealer added option , did not understand this important detail and damaged the rings, by forcing the decorative ring over the tire bead, bending the soft aluminum ring ,distorting the flat shape as the bolts were torqued excessively into the rim, compressing the tire bead between ring and rim. Ring now is usable for the proper fitment to the rim only.
Now the replacement rings do not have the fake bolts like the OEM set.

Local GMC parts department still looking for the 8 decorative bolts that cover those eight holes in the decorative bead lock ring. The only other option is to leave them open until someone can find these decorative bolts.Below is photo of beadlock capable rim, with 24 bolt holes . Decorative ring only uses 16 bolts to secure to rim.
