This is an exciting time of year for Truck fans, as the big awards should be coming out soon, Who will win this years coveted "Truck of the Year"? Mortortrend Truck of the year, and the North American Truck of the Year, Who will win and why? Any Predictions? Do the HummerEV or the Rivian R1T have a chance? Will the Ford Maverick sweep the awards?

Ford lightning not eligible this year, that will be next year. I think by rules some number have to be built and sold this year to qualify for 2022.
A production vehicle has to be available during the year before so it can be evaluated by all the jurors (on their time). In the Fall they narrow the list down to finalists then get together in October for the final evaluation.

Hummer is cutting it close having media drives this month.

Got it. Then I would say the Rivian. I have voiced my concerns about their logistics and uphill battle against the big players but the judges aren’t looking at that. Heck previous winners of the “truck” category include a lot of SUVs so I question their credibility to begin with.😜

I think Maverick is going to win NATOTY, not because it's the best, but because it breaks new ground, NATOTY judges tend to favor Detroit, and Value pricing. My runner up would be the Rivian R1T, It again breaks new ground, and offers Value

For Motortrend Truck of the Year, I think its going to be the Rivian R1T, as Motortrend, looks at value and technology equally in the segment, and motortrend has already said, it is in many ways the best truck they have ever driven.

I think so too, my guess is that next year is when one of the fully electric trucks is going to take home NATOTY.
