I am very excited to hear the new range results with more highway-focused tires... I'm sure it will blow the competition out of the water since the EV1's on mud's are getting 350+ in mixed driving!

Me too if it’s available about a year from now on my 3X UT! Black cars here in Hawaii might look cool, but they get very hot sitting out in a parking lot!

I reserved a 3X but with the option to go with an Edition 1 if one comes available...but screw that! I believe those will come in only one or two colors and they are not orange... Besides, with just 2 to 3 options, a 3X is an Edition 1 minus the Edition 1 Badging--that's it.

why, what tires does that have to be “more highway focused” is it quieter also?

Others here can speak to the specifics of it, but yes! Less “sticky” tires that are also more aerodynamic can help increase efficiency quite a bit from what I’ve read. The big M+S tires that come standard on the edition 1 are also heavy. Some highway tires that weigh less will also make a nice difference. They’ll be substantially more quiet too as they’re not “slapping” the ground as much.
