This YouTube channel Downshift goes through what they think are the top 4 best and worst things about the new electric Hummer.

4 Worst
  • They're not a fan of some of the bland renderings online
  • GM's torque figure because they didn't measure it in the conventional way.
  • Vehicle's unknown range
  • It's entering a hotly contested market.
4 Best
  • 1,000 horsepower
  • 0 to 60 MPH in 3 seconds
  • An electric Hummer could forever change the view of EVs
  • Built in Detroit

Renderings are bland, the teaser, far from it. I'm confident GM will amaze us with the Hummer successor we actually want.

Oh for sure, I think we'll soon find out that this project has been multiple years in the making. I'd be surprised if they mess it up.

Yes, I agree Oakwood. I've been hearing from several sources that GM has been looking for a solid way to revive Hummer since 2014, when several hybrid concepts were made within the company. Additionally, GM has also supposedly been having designers make various Hummer drawings since 2010 when they killed it, just to try to get an idea of what Hummer would look like if and when they ever pulled the trigger. Keep it fresh, if you will. I would bet money that, at the reveal, Mark Reuss will tell people that Hummer was never dead, but dormant, and its return has been in the cards for years.

I can definitely see him saying all of that when they reveal it in May. I'm trying not to get my expectations too high for the Hummer, but I haven't been disappointed with what's been reported so far.

Same here, but as such a diehard GM/Hummer fan, I'm slowly slipping as I get more and more excited for the reveal lol. From everything I've seen, and heard from those who have seen it, though, it is shaping out to be one hack of a line of machines.

I'm at the point where I'm close to throwing my hesitations out the window and going all in on this thing lol. I need one more juicy bit of info first

I hear you, Oakwood! It's especially hard when vehicles like the Bronco and eventually Ram Rebel TRX are dropping, but we still have to wait. With such an anticipated return (from arguably the most famous nameplate of the 2000's), the wait has been BRUTAL. I need to know if GM screwed this up, if they've knocked one into the second deck, or something in between! What's the juicy bit of info you need?

I'm not going to lie, I saw the Bronco spy photos and I'm liking what I'm seeing from them.

As for Hummer, if a photo comes out that shows its body/profile or if there's more info on the electric motor setup that'll probably push me all in lol.

I was going to say the same thing lol. I'll be pulling hard for someone in the Hummer design team to sneak a picture or two and leak them out to the public, especially since the official reveal is still up in the air. I cannot wait to see the profile, and especially how well the Hummer heritage shines through.
