Switch Your Reservation to a Dealership with NO MARKUPS!!

8663 Views 59 Replies 21 Participants Last post by  PFRobinson
I'm Ty White, Hummer EV Specialist at Mcelveen Buick GMC in Summerville, SC. I see a lot of customers are being hit with markups when going to buy their new EV. After speaking with my owners I am happy to announce that we will not be doing any markup on our EVs. If anyone would like to switch their reservation to my dealership, message me here or email [email protected].

-Thanks

Can I still change the dealer after the order was verified?

As I understand you can change until your truck starts production, but should verify with the Concierge
Nice Work... F those greedy dealerships.. Your tesla example though will not age well if you think you are getting a 500 mile cybertruck that can go 0-60 in 2.9 seconds and tow 14K lbs for $69K, you are in for a rude sticker shock awakening in 2024.
I agree 100%. As much as I love Elon & my Tesla's, when it comes to a truck, there was no decision IMHO. I have owned the Raptor, currently have a 2020 Ram 1500 Unlimited 5.7 Hemi (which surpassed my expectations), but plan to sell the second I take delivery of my Hummer. Just wish the rogue dealerships wouldn't pee in our cheerios during the process...

Great write up. I’m with you on these dealerships. Hopefully they’ll soon be a thing of the past. I live in the panhandle of Florida and I’m currently looking for a dealership like yours. Thanks for the information. Any chance of telling me the name of this dealership?
This is the link I used to research Florida GMC Dealership Customer Satisfaction ratings:

They were spot on as I called the #1 ranking first, Crown GMC in Clearwater, and they verified (and put in writing to me), "we are charging MSRP, plus sales tax, dealer fee and plate fees. There will be no additional markup or market adjustment on the vehicle."

I mispoke.....Crown GMC is actually in St. Petersburgh, FL, not Clearwater.

I talked to concierge and was told that if I want to transfer my reservation to a different dealer, to just make a reservation at the dealer I want, call and they'll swap the reservation number from the first reservation to the new one to save your spot in line...just to make sure you order the same vehicle (2x, 3x, etc.). My problem is that I've got an EV3X reservation from the day the preorders launched with a Edition 1 wait list...but you can't get on the "Wait list" anymore, so my new reservation will be an EV3X with no wait list. Should I go ahead and transfer, likely losing the slim chance to get an Edition 1 or wait until my reservation "pops" (possibly as an Edition 1) and then transfer it? Wondering if anyone here has transferred after getting an email that you reservation is ready and how that goes without losing your build.

Pretty sure your chances of getting an edition 1 are less than slim. I’d just make the change

I received an email from the manager of the dealership stating that they will honor the verbal agreement to sell me the car at MSRP, provided that I sign a “right of first refusal” agreement that prohibits me from selling the truck for profit in the first year of ownership.
I have no plans to sell the Hummer, so certainly no issue with signing the agreement.

I’ve signed rights of first refusal for hot cars. I don’t flip so that wouldn’t be an issue.

I buy and sell cars all the time, but always for a loss. I’ve only “made money” on one car out of the many I’ve bought over the years. I’m not in this for profit. I will most likely keep the Hummer EV for a couple of years, so signing this form is a non-issue.

Concierge called me back to follow up on my call on how to switch dealerships, said there's a checkbox on the reservation for Edition1 waitlist they can tick once the reservations have been merged, so no loss there and that I'd keep the locked in lower price.

I did the same thing when I changed dealership’s.
Reservation switched to a dealer an additional hour away that guaranteed MSRP and have delivered 5 already, all for sticker. Now the wait continues.

Grats.
Have you asked concierge whether you will be affected by price hike done in June if you switch your dealer? I talked with concierge today and they told me switching dealer will increase the MSRP of my reservation.

I believe some other people on here have been told the opposite. Concierge seems clueless most of the time, maybe try again and see if you get a different answer

Thanks! Yeah I should try again tomorrow.
The price is based on your reservation date which migrates with your reservation, so your early price will be preserved.

That's what I thought before the chat with concierge. But I had a doubt on them that's why I asked here. Thank you for your reply
