3X is just a battery pack change, and can be optioned to full ED1 hardware, so I guess this might be the smaller pack testing. If GM is really clever they will remove the rear most modules in the 3X pack, so they can give it more payload and towing.

You really think they will remove any modules - I don't. They are still saying its rated for 300+ miles. With the Edition 1 now rated at 329, what would be the point in removing like 1-2 modules? It all seems out of date now as it still says an option is 3 motors and 350+ range, which they shouldn't be saying now. Will they remove some modules for all the lower trims and make them more like 250 range? Probably not I'd say.

We'll see how they have to adjust all their marketing/options here in months ahead I'd suppose.

pay attention to the amount of HP the base 3X is putting out. That's in relation to the amount of power the battery can provide, it's smaller.

true, unless on 3x ya opt for wtf which is an option. So it has to remain possible with less modules then.

if GM was smart they would make wtf an over the air software enabled upgrade and charge enough to coverany Increased hardware + a good pure software profit. Similar to Teslas powereboost upgrades on the slower 3/Y they had a bit.
