GM stated the lower power in the SUV is due to smaller battery pack, so clearly GM does not feel comfortable pulling the 1000hp from the 160kWh pack, which seems weird, Tesla pulls well over 1000 hp from the Plaid 99kWh pack. I think in this case Tesla is just comfortable with more risk on the battery, because the Plaid is really hard on its battery.

Rivian pulls 835 hp out of the 135kWh pack. Could just be GM doesn't want the smaller battery truck to be faster than the top-of-the-line.
