Chevrolet finally showed off the Silverado EV yesterday and just like we did for the Lightning and Rivian, I thought we should have a place to talk about the Chevy - especially since those of us who are loyal to GM might find it a more palatable alternative to the Hummer EV.
Most of the info I'll share here will come from the Silverado EV sister forum, where there's a reservation tracker just like we have here. The reservation tracker is seeing a lot of action, despite having gone live just yesterday afternoon, but the welcome thread is a ghost town, so please say Hi if you pop over there!
Now, on to the truck!
The Silverado EV debuted virtually after GM pulled out of CES due to [gestures vaguely], you know, and Chevy came prepared with lots of details about the Silverado EV's specs, including: range, charging, power and torque, towing, bed size, plus the extra features available on the range-topping (for now, anyway) RST model.
That RST with all those features will not be cheap. The MSRP is $105K, but like Ford, Chevy is being aggressive with the pricing of the Work Truck (WT) version, setting a target price of $39,900 with specs that look like they'll trump Ford's in most measures. Chevy is also promising more model variants with pricing to fill that chasm. More on pricing here: Chevy Silverado EV Price
