Seeing that GM is halting Super Cruise for now due to the chip shortage. No specific mention I’ve seen of it coming off of the edition 1, but I saw they specifically mentioned the CT5 Cadillac not getting it til next spring or summer now. If they are taking it off the first batches of edition 1 what do you think the chances are that some reservation holders say they’ll wait a bit, and will GM let them?

Given that, I read that the Escalade will have to forego Supercruise for a while as well. Guess they sell too many of them to have enough chips.
That’s another flagship vehicle for them, that’s why I figured if they cut it for the Escalade I was worried about the Hummer. I’m a 3X holder anyway so it doesn’t make a difference to me, hopefully they got it all figured out by the time the 3x rolls around

We had to reach out to all of our 2022 Escalade orders and let them know it could be quite awhile if they really wanted supercruise or take it off and get picked up sooner. We left it up to them. Interestingly enough most people didn't care to take it off, just thought it would be a nice feature.

I think its more that Cadillac knows they can sell Escalade without it just as easy, so they take it away from Escalade for now, to launch Hummer. Supply chain should be much better next spring as the Lyriq, and the new T1 pickups launch.

Yup, thanks for making my point for me... Cadillac typical buyers do not know about that high tech stuff, but I feel sorry for them on resale, as SC will be a big deal in a few more years and vehicles without it will sell for less...

We have had several of our older clientele switch from years of buying Escalades down to Yukons, because they don't/can't figure out the new screens and all the functions. The new Escalade is very techy and outgrew some longtime Cadillac buyers. I agree with you on resale, but I feel like anything made right now in 2021 or 2022 will be a collector edition. Hahaha. In 5 years having any 2021 model will blow people away.

I think the super cruise is cool, but it’s not a deal breaker for me. Like Crab Walk, it’s probably something I’d try once or twice but for the most part it’s something I’d never use. I don’t mind regular cruise control, but I think I’d have a hard time taking my hands off the wheel and trusting a vehicle to have complete control.

You mean you will not be CrabWalking back and forth in traffic jams?
