Hey everyone, thought I'd join this community because I'm excited about electric trucks, and plan on getting one in 2021/2022/2023. I've got a really early reservation for the cybertruck (an online calculator said number 10,000/700,000+) if no others come out soon enough, but I'm most excited for the hummer. Hoping to get into offroading a bit, and love the idea of driving around in the open air...at least for the few months it would be useful up here. There are some wood and sand trails up here.

I've looked into every other EV truck that's been rumored, and know a bunch (Invested in Atlis, actually), so figured I'd put some of my knowledge to good use here.

Welcome @lukeG!

Have you heard about the Chevy EV pickup truck that they confirmed recently? Apparently it won't wear the Silverado name. Might be another one to consider as more details come out. What do you like about the Hummer EV so far?

These were my choices on the poll:
  • Chevy Pickup EV
  • Bollinger B2
  • Hummer SUT

Welcome to the forum @lukeG! I'm going with Hummer, Rivian R1T, and F-150 EV.

I'm most interested in the Hummer because I love that it's off-road focused and will have removable doors and a removable roof.
The R1T is really cool because of its 4-motor all-wheel drive setup and the cool gear tunnel.
I'm curious about the F-150 because Ford is really pushing for EVs and this F-150 doesn't seem to be part of their investment in Rivian which is interesting.

Thanks! besides the fact that it's electric and has removable roof/doors, I'm excited for a rugged interior mixed with technology (perhaps similar to the bronco?). Also excited for the 0-60 sprint time! What about you @AllTerrain ?

I think the R1T has an option for removable roof as well. I feel like the F150 EV will do well because of the $7500 tax credit

The "up to 11,500 lb-ft of torque"... depending on price as that's probably for a top-spec model.

Welcome again, @lukeG! Great to have another contributing member, glad to have your knowledge here.

I had the Hummer, Chevy and Ford...because I'm a Big 3 homer lol.

I have to agree with you all on why I'm excited for the Hummer. I was a big Hummer fan back in the 2000's (my formative years), and had honestly given up on it coming back. That just never happens anymore. I'm a huge GMer, and have awesome memories working with my cousin on his H2T back in high school and college. It's undoubtedly a nostalgia thing, but I also love offroaders, and will always root for GM. Removable roof and likely doors, 1,000 hp, and boxy, rugged looks...I'm in! The reveal is gonna be huge.

Also, @AllTerrain, where did you hear that the Chevy EV truck won't be badged a Silverado? That's interesting.

I think the speculation comes from GM and Chevy not saying it's a Silverado yet. Just that it's a full size electric pickup.

Autoblog also touched on the idea that it might not be a Silverado.

Chevrolet pledged its yet-unnamed pickup will offer over 400 miles of driving range on a charge, but it chose not to disclose additional details about the truck. It could be marketed as a greener alternative to the Silverado, or it could arrive as a standalone model. Similarly, we don't know precisely when it will make its global debut.
