Hi all! I'm excited to be a part of this forum. I have had a Chevy Bolt EV since 2017 and am on my second one currently, a 2020 model. I'm excited to make the jump up to the Hummer SUV when it comes out. I was able to reserve an Edition 1 SUV and cannot wait for it to arrive. This vehicle just looks dominating over the EV world. I also work for a Buick GMC Cadillac dealer, but love to be a part of the ownership community. I hope to add some behind the scenes info if I can and give my reservation to arrival journey.

Welcome to the forum @BigJonEV! Congrats on reserving an Edition 1! It'll be great to get some dealer info from you as we get closer to fulfilling orders.

Are you planning to keep the Bolt along with the Hummer?
Thanks @Oakwood for the welcome. I deal with the waiting and ordering process a lot, so hopefully I can shed some light on vehicle statuses from GM or answer any other questions.

I'm currently leasing the Bolt and that lease is up February 2023. I'm hoping the timing works out for the early 2023 release on the SUV Edition 1 so I can just jump right into that vehicle. I have loved the Bolt with 0 issues and am nothing but impressed with the EV technology from GM so far.

Welcome @BigJonEV.

Any word on when your dealer will be training techs to work on the Hummer EV? I heard these training sessions often happen a few months before first deliveries.

Thank you for the welcome!! @MarkoLP

We in sales have been taking online courses as well as the service techs. Our next biggest step is the specialized lift being put in to lift the Hummer and allow battery access. Plus we are installing several charging stations to use. The process has definitely started, but more EV generalities so far. Hummer specific training is on it's way for us.

Welcome @BigJonEV , glad to hear dealers are getting prepared, lets hope they do not need the "special battery lift" very often. :)
Thank you @Tom E-Tron . When I worked for the Chevy dealer I can remember us using the battery lift maybe once. It's a special scissor lift that goes under the car and you drop the battery down onto the platform. I'm sure the Hummer is going to be no exception in battery technology, but always need to be prepared.

Welcome aboard, @BigJonEV! Awesome to have you here, I think you'll find this forum to be especially helpful to you. The number of educated Hummer EV diehard fans here still wows me after a year+ "on the line."

I also think you're being here will be very helpful to US, having an insider GMC salesperson to poke and prod for info lol. What's the attitude like among your fellow GMC sales reps since the Hummer return?

I will do my best to provide updates. I did just check our order main page and nothing as of yet for placing orders. I know we have our reservation list ready to go to reach out to customers to finalize their order. Pretty exciting so far

Thanks @StillHummer I'm happy to be here and talk to all the diehard Hummer enthusiasts. It looks like the forum is really growing with SUV reveal also.

We are a big GMC dealer and I am always trying to be on top of the newest info we get. Honestly, I'm probably the most excited salesperson here for the Hummer EV. I understand the tech and the benefits, but being in the Midwest there is still a big desire for gas engines and not adopting new technology. We will see as the orders start rolling in. Our management team is on full bore for sure though. Their attitude is this is the future and don't get left behind.

Great to hear that your dealership has vision, people who wish for a Duramax powered Hummer likely do to have EV experience, and do not realize all the EV benefits, on or off road. EV's are the future, and outside of a few people who tow heavy loads over long distances regularly, this Hummer EV is going to be amazing.

I'm excited to be here for sure. They have bought into it and are all in. I just moved back here from California, so EV's were everywhere and charging stations were plentiful. I've seen firsthand over the past 5 years the benefits of EV's. I'm aiming to lead the charge here in sales and agree this Hummer will be great for us overall.

Do you know what size charging stations they will install? Most dealerships already have L2 chargers, but a few have small DFDCs, by that I mean something like 25KW CCS. That will not be enough for this big boy. Fortunately there are two Electrify America sites within about ten miles of my GMC Dealership in Phoenix. One of those has 350KW capability the other only 150KW.

I will double check what size they are putting in. Not having the Chevy side with the Bolt this dealer doesn't have any charging stations as we haven't had a need. I'm assuming since they are installing brand new ones it will be the 350Kw chargers especially since we will have the Cadillac Lyriq coming out soon also. We will need to charge everything quickly as possible.

Has your dealer received a lot of interest in the Hummer and/or Lyriq?

We do actually have quite a few reservations already. More so for the truck right now than the SUV. We didn't really get anyone that wanted to transfer over to the SUV from the truck. We have far more interest in the Hummer than the Lyriq currently.

I have a feeling that will change as the LYRIQ gets closer to production, LYRIQ is going to be a hit for Cadillac, maybe its best seller from 2023 on.
