This new video captured what looks to be the most complete build I have seen of the Hummer on the road yet:

It looks like it has all the lights, plastic cladding and side mirrors - unlike others I have seen online that don’t seem to have the production intent versions..

Interestingly, I follow a guy who tracks the Hummer prototype license plate numbers and registrations, This #2 (gas Pump Hummer) has the same plate number as the earlier #2 spotted at Milford that had no cladding, etc...

I have noticed Hummer EV prototype sightings out and about have been quieter the last couple weeks, I wonder if GM is refitting the earlier prototypes with production parts to use as display trucks or media test drive vehicles? @Aloppen can you tell us?

I hope they don't keep that black piece at the edges beneath the light bar. That has been white in the past and I think the black does not look good. Kinda makes me curious why they would make that black if the rest of the truck looks mostly like a full production model.

Yeah, good point, we will have to wait to see what makes the final production model.

I have a 3X reservation also... And I was thinking the same as you that I like the white... Someone may correct me, but I believe that the Edition 1's have a different white with a pearl or metallic in it.... I hope that we could chose from that when our time comes around.

Good point, maybe GMC will offer some kind of “blackout” package with black trim in various locations. But, as also pointed out, that black portion under the light bar is probably just another preproduction part…

@Bboozer1 My understanding is that the Edition 1 white color is limited in the SUT to only for the Edition 1 SUTs. It is the same for the Edition 1 green SUV.

Here’s where it gets more complicated. I think you can order subsequent year SUTs in the Edition 1 SUV green. You can also order subsequent year SUVs in the Edition 1 SUT color.

I think we are going to see the production model soon, I would guess before the end of July, then we will know, but I think body color looks better.

I agree with you that the pearl/metallic white on the edition 1 SUT will probably be exclusive to that one and we'll probably just get more of a flat white option for future trim levels but I'm cool with that, I just love the white on black look. I love the green of the SUV but have heard nothing but negative feedback about matte paint. In these Indiana winters with salt it would be pain in the butt to keep clean all the time!

This guy really hit the jackpot seeing it twice. I don't mind the black trim pieces, maybe they'll be optional.

What are your opinions on the aesthetics of the roof racks? I want to get the roof light bar and pod lights on the hood. I do not have a regular need for the roof racks but am curious whether you think it adds or detracts from the looks of the SUT.

I don't dislike the roof racks, but I think that it looks cleaner without them. I wonder if they would be easy to remove, and maybe only add them when they were needed... If so, I would probably opt for them and store them most of the time.. They would be handy for larger items (like stand up paddle boards or kayaks) since the bed is so short

I am not a fan personally. They don’t look right on a truck, IMHO. I would get them if I had a regular functional need but remove them when not in use.
