In Jay Leno’s latest video regarding the CT5 Blackwing, he mentions that he drove the Hummer EV! Maybe they have started the media drives then?

it’s mentioned at about the 19:30 mark in case you want to skip ahead! Sounds awesome and the Cadillac as well!

Jay does mention that 0-60 is 3 seconds or less. I wonder if he knows that or less part or just speculating. Or maybe just confusing it with the Cybertruck that he has also driven!

And I wish I knew when the embargo is lifted. Could be close to the Rivian reviews as they are now letting customers drive them as of a few weeks ago.

Leno doesn’t care about an embargo🤣

I am not sure if Jay Leno got a formal drive in the Hummer yet, or just got shown the show truck? Jay is getting a bit old and forgetful. We will have to wait and see, but I would guess Hummer test drives have not started yet, more likely test drives will be in the last week of August and into September. Any embargo would lift in mid September before the Texas State Fair.

We know the first street legal HummerEV was built 2 week ago, which would be the first one Jay could legally drive. I do not think even Jay gets to drive prototypes, because if something goes wrong they cannot be insured.

It usually takes Jay Leno's garage about a month to produce a show after filming, so he likely drove the CT5V Blackwing a while ago.

Yeah it's likely a production delay as to why it hasn't been out yet. Another reason could be that he drove one when there weren't cameras around.

There are several possibilities;

I think it's most likely if Jay is not BS'ing, that he paid a visit to Milford, to drive a prototype. He would have been able to film, but the tapes would have to be edited by GM, in case something more secret was captured testing. Milford is a hot bed of secrets. Everyone I have talked to that has been there has seen some unannounced products.

Yes unfortunately it seems like Jay is getting a little forgetful as he sometimes asks questions that the car rep has already answered.

And in case anyone cares if looks like today a lot more Cadillac Blackwing driving impressions have come out for the CT4 and 5. GM knows how to tune a suspension when they are given the time it seems. Lets hope the compressed development schedule for the Hummer doesn’t compromise that aspect of the truck.

I have a feeling the HummerEV suspension tuning will be good, it's a ZF fully adaptive air suspension. Maybe not as good as GM's own adaptive suspensions in the Cadillac Sedans and Corvette as the Hummer just has so much weight, but much better than any pickup we are used to. Seeing the Hummer testing though, it seems to have a lot of front to back suspension movement on acceleration and decelerations, that might take some getting used to. HummerEV transfers the weight to the rear axle like a drag car.
