Hummer EV1 Dealership Order Placement

2449 Views 12 Replies 9 Participants Last post by  BikeYeti
Hello,
Just prior to the time of confirming and placing the build order at the dealership... How should I choose which dealership to use? I would imagine who ever has the most allotments would be best!!! Currently, my dealership has just one (1) reservation, me....

No loyalty here, I live in NJ...lol

All Hummer EV orders have to go through the GMC website, dealers cannot sell you a Hummer EV without a reservation. Choose your dealership and then order through gmc.com, Build allocations come to the dealership based on based on the order of your deposit, not a typical allocations.

If you're happy with your dealer I don't think there's a point to switch dealers. If you're not that's a different story.

As long as they're a participating dealer, I wouldn't worry too much about the number of allocations they have so far. If they're selling the Hummer, they're making the investment. If you're in an area with few GMC dealers, just go wherever the customer satisfaction is the highest...they'll be applying that ethic to their EV sales too.

If you find one that is close with good overall customer reviews, go with them...no reason to drive 45 miles to go somewhere with 3 Hummer E1 reservations with a lesser customer satisfaction rating!

Hi all,

New to the forum so apologies if this question has been asked, but has anyone looked into whether there is any flexibility for those who move between the reservation date and order date? I made my reservation for the EV2 within the first few days but have since learned that I may need to move out of state in the next couple of years (work-related).

I assume the answer is that I’ll need to either cancel and re-reserve or complete the order with the current dealership. If that’s the case, I would lean towards the latter option, as the trip may only be 2-3 hours and I don’t want to lose my spot a year or two down the road.

Thanks in advance for any feedback!

No worries on that. You can change your dealership anytime all the way up to placing the order without losing your reservation place.

Oh that’s great! Makes things easier if I’m not tied to the original dealership. Thanks!

On a side note, would be curious to know which dealership you land on in NJ. Decent chance I’ll be switching to a NJ dealership before ordering.

Welcome to the forum, @Msv5010! Glad to have you aboard. Make sure to stick around for the most up-to-date Hummer EV info.

If I were you, I'd make sure to go with the dealership in NJ (assuming you move there) that has the best overall reviews. Some people wanted to go with the dealership around them with the most Hummer EV reservations...but I really don't think that's necessary. If one dealership has 2 reservations and a 5 star rating, and another has 10 reservations but a 3.5 star rating...go with the 5 star one. Quality is what matters, not the reservation numbers!

Thanks! Yes, I will need to do some research when the times comes. It was easy where I am now (VA) because my local dealership has a strong reputation. I don’t know anything about the dealerships where I’m likely headed in either NJ or PA.

you reservation is good for all GMC dealerships nationwide. All you need to do is request a reservation dealer change / update.
One thing I would check with your dealer about is the price at which they plan on selling the Hummer EV at. My dealer originally told me they were going to charge more than MSRP but after I threatened to move my reservation, the manager came back and told me it would be at MSRP. Just make sure your dealer is not marking it up more as it seems many are and many are not. Since it's easy to move the reservation, pick one that is not marking it up.

How do you do this? Call the concierge line?

Yes, I believe your concierge can change the reservation location but only before it has left the factory for delivery.
