Big news!

GM sent out an email to employees...and they said the reveal date will be announced on Monday, September 14th. They will also be teasing the functionality of Crab Mode. Almost time!

Here's the comment from a GM employee on GM Authority:

First off, welcome to Hummer EV forums, @HumHumHummer! You got on at the perfect time, everything is starting to unfold!

As far as pricing, there's a couple noteworthy things. First, and this is nothing more than rumors, but I've heard that pricing will be "C8 Corvette pricing-like in shock value," and have even heard to expect pricing to start at a hair under $50k. Pricing with the highest trim levels and the most options will supposedly hit six figures. GM is trying to offer their first Ultium EVs at lower costs than you would expect, hoping that this will help them gain huge swaths of EV market share early on while the segment is young. Look at the starting price of the Lyriq, and how surprising that was. Swapping short term profits loss for long term growth seems to be the strategy.

Also, the Lucid Air (which is incredible, btw) is being billed as a true luxury flagship sedan, think BMW 7 Series and Mercedes S-Class. So they're going to price it very high to match that image. Conversely, the Hummer EV twins are being billed more as utilitarian lifestyle vehicles as opposed to luxury trucks, so I don't think they'll be priced as high as Lucid offerings.

Welcome @HumHumHummer! They always offer the most expensive model first. You'll have to wait a bit for the cheaper Air if that's what you want.
With the breaking news this morning that Nikola essentially admitted to a couple elements contained in the Hindenburg accusations, and since GM just partnered with them...I think GM may be waiting this out to announce the new Hummer reveal date. They may not be announcing it today after all...ouch.

Hummer choosing the biggest RACIST LeBron James as your spokesperson for HUMMER SUCKS and will prove to be a flash point of supporting a RACIST to promote a product launch.

Hey @Peyton, welcome to the forums! Happy to have you on board.

I will say this though, let's keep politics and social issues to a minimum here. This is one place of a dying breed, a place where people still strictly talk cars instead of politics. I am NO LeBron fan, being from Cleveland and having him leave twice, but let's keep that kind of stuff out of here, at least in topic-specific forums, like this one. This is the "Hummer News" forum.

If you start a new thread about the wisdom of the decision to make LeBron the spokesman in the "Off-Topic Discussions" forum on the home page, you may start a pretty substantive debate. But do it there, not here. Again, glad to have you here!
