The hummer is done! I pick it up tomorrow.

I'll circle back with details on how many the dealership has done and if an engineer was out there + other questions yall have
Did you pick it up? We’re they able to give you any new info?
Mine has been at my dealer since 9/30/22 and they can’t seem to get any info.

I see you didn't own a Bolt during the recall fiasco there. Part of the reason I didn't feel bad selling my Hummer so quickly.
Very different risks with this recall. I.e. drive in a few feet of water and maybe stall versus your car may burn your house down. Not the same urgency it feels like.

Just picked it up today. I asked the following:
  • Who installed it? Their team + 1 GM field engineer
  • How many of these battery replacements have you done here? This was the first. The other few hummers were sent to GMC. There was 1 other person ahead of me but they tried to bring their car at another dealer service center in hopes of getting it faster.
  • Did you have any insight into when the battery will arrive? No. They received an email from GM that it's on the way. It arrived few days later with an engineer.
  • What precautions were taken? They brought in a special forklift to lift it into the chassis
  • How long did it take? A day to move the 3 ton battery

dealers are supposed to have installed a special lift for installing the battery, no Forklift install.

I think they mean once the Battery was delivered to the Dealership they had a Forklift to move it into the Bay onto the special table.

First day of Spring - hopefully we hear more on the stop sale soon!

I wonder how carefully they're playing this whole thing. I'm going to guess not very. I'd imagine they'd WANT to prioritize battery replacements in customer delivered cars before stop-sale examples on lots. But, considering how little they've seemed to care about what everyone thought of the situation, I can also see them just blasting them out willy-nilly and who ever gets theirs, gets theirs, in whatever order the logistics chain shakes them out. Shops that end up doing multiple replacements will probably have the process down to a couple hours meanwhile places that only end up doing one or two will likely still take days. All I know is, the hope is the SUV Ed1 rollout goes WAY smoother than the truck. I'd like to think they can deliver more Hummer EVs of any body style in the next 9 months than they have the past 15. Something still feels like it's going on we don't know about, because any truck built since mid-August (according to them) should have a properly sealed pack and be immediately available for sale...but they're still sitting on 5k "built" trucks.
