I searched and didn’t find the answer so forgive me if this horse has already been beaten...

I have a reservation for a 3x but haven’t heard from the dealership. What’s the process/protocol/timing to select my options and process an order?

Hey @Bschurr. Since the SUV is a 2024 model that means that production isn't going to start until 2022 and won't reach dealers until what seems to be 2023. I don't know an exact timeframe but it might take a little while before you hear GMC as they deal with the pickups first.

What I normally do in situations like this is check in with my dealer every now and then for my own piece of mind and for them to not forget about my order.

There was a recent news article that stated GM would reach out to reservation holders 6 months prior to the delivery date. It is very likely there will be significant cancellations, due to the high price of the vehicle and the low deposit. I have the V3X SUT reserved, but am wait listed for the Edition 1. Hopefully I can move up.

I think some of the lucky reservation holders will hear from their dealer soon. The way it works is GM tracks the order, and lets the dealer know when it is time to get a formal purchase order. At that time I would guess it is like any pre order vehicle you sign a purchase order with the dealer, and sometimes a deposit is required.

I have an Edition 1 reservation and did get a call from the dealer I selected shortly after the process. They called and basically acknowledged it but little else and clearly didnt have any real details. Basically said they would reach out when they found out. Crickets since and no surprises. I didnt expect to hear anything til the fall at earliest.

When I made my SUT reservation, I got an email from the dealership manager the day after the GMC confirmation email. Basically it had no detail, just thanked me for considering them for my next vehicle.

The day prior to reservations, I did visit the dealership, and the son of the owner told me that they already had an early unit on order. Aparently dealerships were allowed to pre-order in order to have demo trucks early on.

I emailed my dealer yesterday and heard back this morning. My dealer does not have any additional information at this time but was told by GM that reservation holders would receive communication by email when it is time for the next step.

I just stopped by my dealer and confirmed they have my order information. The sales manager also told me they are expecting more information mid summer.
