The Hummer EV's extract mode is going to be the saving grace of off roaders for getting out of a tight spot.

The air suspension will raise the Hummer to a ground clearance of 15.9 inches so you climb your way out. That's nearly 6 inches more than the standard ground clearance (10.1 inches)

As a result it also increases the ground, approach, departure, and breakover angles.

Those are some crazy numbers.

Does anything else have 15.9 inches of ground clearance? What does an average pickup have?

At 15.9 its easily the highest ground clearance pickup truck on the market and by a massive margin.

Below that, even the 11.9 inches in Terrain Mode is still impressive and class-leading.
Its bests the F-150 Raptor that gets 11.2 inches, which as many know, has been leading with capabilities like this for a while.

Now that's no more (at least till the 14th-Gen F-150 based Raptor comes out)

Finally, the standard ground clearance of 10.1 inches, is less than the RAM 1500 (10.3 inches) and Toyota Tundra (10.6 inches) but still great when looking at the highest ground clearance base pickups in this segment.

Not to mention the the most capable off-roaders on the market ALL have less clearance:

  • Jeep Wrangler Rubicon: 10.8 inches
  • Ford Bronco Wildtrak: 11.6 inches
  • Land Rover Defender: 11.5 inches
  • Jeep Gladiator Mojave: 11.6 inches

The Hummer EV gets 10.1 inches in standard drive mode, 11.9 in Terrain Mode, and a whopping 15.9 in Extract Mode (which basically eliminates the suspension travel and isn't for constant use, just to "extract").

That's insane.
