GM Authority is reporting that production of the Hummer EV Edition 1s might last into the 2023 model year.

The number of Edition 1s is reportedly around 1,200 trucks and so far GM has produced only 371 in the first 6 months.

The GMC Hummer EV Pickup Edition 1 was initially expected to last for just one model year, serving only as a limited-run launch version of the truck. However, GM Authority has now learned that production of the GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 may last into the 2023 model year.

While GM has yet to confirm how many orders for the Hummer EV Pickup Edition 1 it has, various sources indicate that number is around 1,200 units. GM has built 371 examples of the Hummer EV in the first six months of this year, plus one single unit in Q4 2021, so it seems as though the automaker still has roughly 900 vehicles to build before it switches to production of the 2023 GMC Hummer EV Pickup.

GM has said it would ramp up production at the Factory Zero plant in the second half of the year, however it still seems unlikely GM will be able to produce the remaining Edition 1 models this year. The plant was also taken offline for upgrades on June 27th and won’t come back online until July 22nd.
