GM is planning on building the Cadillac Lyriq at its Spring Hill Manufacturing facility in Tennessee.

GM will spend $2 billion to bring Lyriq production to the plant, which opened as a Saturn factory in 1990 and currently employs about 3,800 workers

Along with the Lyriq they plan on building other EVs there as well.

GM has to work the battery cost curve down before they worry about cheaper and higher production EV's. GM is going to start slow on the Ultium platform vehicles, build up in a linear fashion, and be profitable. GM has a very profitable truck and suv business which buys them lots of time, they don't need to panic and make hasty decisions. This EV transition is not going to happen overnight, especially in the USA, and trucks. There will be some EV pickups to choose from, but there are simply not the batteries for too many too fast. GM management has finally learned chasing volume usually means discounts, and you cannot afford to discount EV's due to the battery cost.
