GM Announced Earnings Blowout, Ultium Battery Factory Ahead of Schedule

This is a little off topic, but since I am a GM investor I though it was interesting.

GM announced their Q3 2020 earnings were more than double Wall Street expectations, also that they are gaining full size pickup truck market share, and that the Ultium Battery factory construction is ahead of schedule.

GM also told us to stay tuned for a November 19th EV announcement...

I heard about this yesterday, such amazing news coming out of times like these! Who saw it coming? I can't believe how well GM has done during this pandemic, both in sales and product development.

Also, as a side note, I made a trip about 40 minutes down to the Ultium plant about a week ago, and I was blown away not only by the size of the plant, but by how far along it was. They've done an insane amount of work in the last month and a half alone!

Awesome, did you take some pictures? How are they doing on the steel work? I heard they want to have it dried in by mid December, does that look like a possibility?

Unfortunately no, I had to view it from across the street, and the main building is placed so far back that I decided it wasn't worth it. Right off of OH-45. And I was stunned by how much of the frame of the factory was up, it seemed like almost all walls were up and most of them were secured. The roof beams were also on most, from what I could see. I'd say a dry-in by December is absolutely possible, just based on how far they've come the last month and a half alone.

Here is a picture from Factory Zero showing the progress, sorry for the lack of clarity, I expanded it from a picture on the website of Gallagher- Kaiser who is the general contractor on the paint shop. It looks and sounds like they are installing equipment now, and all of the exterior work is nearing completion as we get into winter weather. GM Factory Zero Complete Paint Shop | GK Corp
