Fun Saturday Night Cruising with Tops Off

1131 Views 18 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  Nebula1701
We had a great time tonight, took the tops off and went cruising, lots of rubbernecks looking at us, and people quickly pulling out cameras.

We did have a new bug though, got a Service Height System message, and now no control of heigh adjustment. @Nebula1701 any ideas how to reset that without a trip to the dealer?

probably something triggered a trouble code and disabled it.

A few options: a power cycle, unplug the 12V, get an OBD2 reader and clear the codes.

Otherwise maybe one of the position sensors went bad, has a lose connection, or a fuse popped.

Did you have the new height sensors installed yet?

I had them installed last week, this thing is crazy looking in extract mode! Def makes me feel like I should have bigger wheels/tires on this thing! Too bad you can only go 12 miles an hour in extract mode (not really surprising).

How do you enable extract mode? Is it now a physical switch or in the UI?

There is a DTC, but my reader cannot access it.

Ugh..... keep us posted tom on the fix
One of the reasons why this one is highly recommended. OBDLink® MX+ - Outstanding Bluetooth-Compatible OBD II Scan Tool

I use this tool along side a Chevy Volt specific app to check battery voltage levels.

Awesome Stuff. Will this work with the Hummer EV1? and has anyone used it?

It should, OBDLink keeps their stuff updated constantly for OEM Specific codes and configurations.

Recommended in both Bolt and Volt communities.

Get the dealership tools. MDI2 and a subscription to GDI2 when you need it. I was able to reset the protected codes in my Bolt that would normally make the vehicle a brick in my garage.

same as the other modes, it just shows up as a 4th option. But you can only do it in the terrain drive mode.
AHH I found a quick start guide for it on GM's site.

Amazon is awesome, ordered the OBD2, and it just arrived... Only a couple hours... amazing.

Has the OVA Over the Air update been released yet?? Can the dealer update it ?

Per GM you need to go to a dealership so they can install the new required height position sensors and install the update.
I think trucks produced recently and after the shut down is over will not need either.
