There were 1,000. I can't believe there were that few, but there must be way more for other variants, because the EV2, EV2X and EV3X are still wide open. That's insane lol.

I just talked to GMC PR and they didn't provide a number of Edition 1 models.

What I can say is our First Edition did sell out last night with thousands now on our waiting list. To get on the Edition 1 waitlist, customers will need to reserve another GMC HUMMER EV trim and check the “Edition 1 Waitlist” box on Step 3. They will then be contacted if/when an Edition 1 production slot becomes available.

Someone who claimed to work at a GMC dealer said so on Facebook. I don't know if it's for sure true, but it would fit the fact that they sold out so fast. Would be nice to know!

Thanks. I wouldn't necessarily trust what a dealer says. In fact, I almost never do. lol

Ho hum. Another long-awaited new truck reveal, another hair-pulling evening spent on an automaker's consumer website, trying to reserve one of the company's first production models. This time, it's the 2022 GMC Hummer EV -- more specifically, the Edition 1, the fully loaded limited-run version that's the only model GMC announced for the pickup's first year of production. For those who attempted to get in line waiving their credit card deposit for a new Ford Bronco or a Tesla Cybertruck, this hard-luck tale probably sounds overly familiar.
Give some credit to General Motors, though: its reservation microsite seemed to function far more fully and responsively out of the gates than the reservation tools of those other vehicles we mentioned -- at least until it didn't. Try to select a first-year Edition 1 model on there now, and you'll be greeted by one of these images.

Detroit — Edition 1 of the new all-electric Hummer coming late next year sold out in 10 minutes after its October virtual debut, GMC said Tuesday.
General Motors Co. wouldn't specify how many Edition 1 Hummers it sold, but Duncan Aldred, vice president for global GMC, said: "It's fair to say that the the first edition is highly sought after ... because of a combination of it being the top of the line in terms of features and capability, but also being the first available vehicle — and what we've seen is clearly the customers want the vehicle just as soon as possible."
