Seeing this facebook post from @Aloppen makes me wonder if GM slow played the Silverado Launch timeline? GM did this with Lyriq, initially announced it for Fall 2022, then took a bunch of beating in the press, then magically pulled it 6 months ahead. Will this going to be the case for SilveradoE too? Tooling industry whisper is that they have been working on the tooling, and speculated that Q4 2022, it would be ready to go, so is GM going to pull a Lyriq, and pull this timeline ahead too?

IMO we will see Silverado WT's being delivered to fleet in very early 2023, and First Editions in late Q2

I would think they need to bring it to market faster than what is posted online if they don鈥檛 want to give Ford a huge head start. Would be bad for market share

I don't think it matters, GM is bringing a modern EV pickup, Ford is bringing a rushed stop gap measure that will see sales belly flop, as its priced too high for the capabilities it has.

Ford Lightning, is not competitive on any EV perimeter, and frumpy looking inside and out.

GM announced many of their vehicles were pulled ahead back in 2020.
  • Lyriq by 9 months
  • Sierra EV by 40 months
  • Silverado by 11 months
  • Equinox by 21 months
  • Many others TBA
