There is a new video out on the design of the new Hummer EVs:

It gives some background of their design decisions and process. Pretty interesting…

Great Find, this is interesting to see how the designs evolved...
One thing though: it’s seems to have had some odd edits where it looks like some stuff was cut out. I wonder if they had some information GMC didn’t want put out yet? The section on accessories for example seemed like something top secret might have been cut out of it as the transitions seemed odd. I assume manufacturers typically have the final say on some of the videos put out - especially in something like this where it’s not pre-scripted?

it’s was interesting how they showed how difficult it was getting the roof panels to stow up front. Sounds like they had to make a lot of tweaks to get it to fit right.

The videos keep coming lately so I think Tom ETrons prediction of an eminent “release” is going to be correct.

Ya, I figured stacking those 4 roof panels in the FRUNK had to be done a very specific way to avoid damage, and if they do not fit tight in there they will move during off roading and get scratched.

Definitely GM asks for edits on these videos to protect proprietary info, and also cut out nonsense jabber. These are designers, and not actors, sometimes they go off track and create confusion, which GM likes to edit and keep the narrative. Even Al's video last week on Overland Bound had some odd edits.

Haha, we never know what GM has up their sleeve, but my confidence is increasing that we will be hearing from GM soon. I originally thought GM would want to have the first production validation build Hummer EV completed before taking orders, which has clearly now been built and released from the factory. This is earnings week for GM, so again, it's a marketing questing for when GM wants to pop the market with some excitement, but it seems from an engineering and production standpoint GM is there. I still think salable production will start in September, and deliveries in October. My original guesstimate from 3 weeks ago was 75% chance we hear from GM this week (earnings week), going to 98% next week, I still think those are solid guesses.
