Last night was the first of several Dealership invite only events for the reveal of the Lyriq. This one was in Dallas, TX and their next one they mentioned going to California. While they didn't go into a whole lot of detail on actual specs or timelines it really changed my mind about it seeing the vehicle in person. Here are a ton of pics and some of my takeaways.

-It's bigger than anticipated. Same length and width of our 3 row XT6, but only a 5 passenger. Had a larger footprint to it for sure.
-They spoke of no front trunk in order to allow for a bigger rear storage area. Neither the hood or rear liftgate opened on this pre production model so can't really expound anymore on it, but they did verbally say no Frunk
-The dash and vents look to all sit very high and from looking in there will be a lot of front leg room.
-The 22's look amazing in person and should be the only wheel available. It wouldn't look right with the standard 20's.
-The angle of the rear glass will allow for more cargo volume and taller items. It's almost as if the roof line just gradually extends to the back liftgate, but is actually the back glass.

BigJonEV,

Will you get back to your desk? It seems GMC is waiting for your return before they will let us order our Edition One's!!

In all seriousness, glad you could be part of the excitement around the EV wave at GM. The future of mainstram EV's adoption with both personal vehicle & commercial vehicles is going to be interesting to watch.

I really wish me being here would help. It's even worse for me because I have ways of checking when we can order these vehicles so I go crazy everyday.

The event was very cool to be a part of especially since our dealership was invited and then I was able to attend personally. The excitement and buzz around the car was incredible and I am anxious to see how more public adoption goes moving forward as well.

I wish we had real concrete reasons for no Frunk rather than just moving things to the front.... everywhere I turn I get blasted about no frunk Lryiq is a failure. GM's packaging sucks... It's the stupidest argument.

I just hope Gen 2 of Ultium brings the weight down as well... that's another talking point that really stings.

The Lyriq is a beautiful car, I want it to do well!!

The Lyriq is a very nice looking car, inside and out... For Ev's though, efficiency is everything, if the car is heavier, and less aerodynamic, the efficiency will suffer, requiring a bigger battery to get the range which drives up the weight. EV's really require better engineering than ICE cars, and here is why...

Look at Lucid, they are the efficiency and packaging kings, they packaged a full size interior into a midsized segment car, and still have room for a Frunk, 500 miles of range. Note the the packaging efficiency, and size of the drive units...

I've been racking my brain on what could be up there. We were really hoping to see in the front and back at the event but did not happen unfortunately. Despite all of that I still believe it will do very well and be a great EV option. Seeing it in person it just slaps you in the face that it's a Cadillac. All it will take is to have a few on the showroom floor across the country for people to fall in love. The details and design cues make it seem more like a wild concept vehicle you would see at an auto show, but this is actually what they are building. To me it really is a concept to reality vehicle.

I hope you are right... I have high hopes to, but man, there is some tough competition coming around the same timeframe.
