That was actually announced with the Silverado but if you blinked twice you probably missed it! Don’t know why they are keeping it under wraps still in comparison to the Equinox, but let’s hope it’s because they want to blow everyone away. I assume it will be very similar in size to the Lyriq (or maybe a few inches shorter) and be built in Tennessee as well.

I know a lot of people have already been complaining that it will take another two years before they get a Silverado or cheaper Hummer, but I think this new Blazer is another reason it’s taking a while - the battery factories are still coming online and will have a lot of vehicles to supply. This includes the Hummer, the Brightdrop vans, Lyriq, Blazer, Silverado, Equinox, Sierra, Celestiq (?) and others after that.

I missed that announcement.. I was installing a lift in my shop that morning , and not paying complete attention.

Blazer and Equinox are likely to be built in Mexico, where the ICE versions are built and GM is spending over $1B to prepare for them. You cannot build the low end EV's in the USA, GM would go broke or have to charge too much for them to go mainstream. There will also be a Honda version of this smaller platform in Mexico.

Spring Hill is half Lyriq and the Honda version, and the other half is unannounced but I expect a Traverse sized 3 row crossover and matching Buick, Caddy, and GMC in 2024 or 2025

Media is complaining GM is too slow, but they are really not paying attention to see the strategy taking shape, just blabbering...

It does appear that GM has a serious plan and a platform to build vehicles across all segments and when they all drop very closely together, maybe then they will get it...
