Any insight into annual registration costs for the HEV in CA

Purchased my 21 TRX used in Dec with 5k miles on it. Absolutely love everything about the truck except the gas bill which is only gonna get worse with rising gas prices. I just received my new registration and realized that it was registered as a commercial vehicle, in addition to that my reg was $1200. This is by far the most expensive truck i have ever owned, 1200 for reg seems outrageous tho someone in AZ quoted they paid 2200 for theirs.

Upon further research im finding that all pickup trucks are registered as commercial in CA. This is my third truck and first i have ever heard of this. Under this definition the SUT will be a commercial vehicle, will the SUV be able to escape with just a private passenger vehicle registration? Looks like both models will have plenty of Commercial category features.
1) over 80 inches wide
2) 3 running amber lights in the front of the vehicle
3) Over 6k lbs

Curious if anyone has any insight into this. I wonder if there will be some break due to it being an HEV or if we should be expecting high reg costs annually as well.

Per the above, the weight fee on an electric commercial vehicle will be $266 for 6000-9999 lbs. This is actually worse than it is for our TRXs which are between 6k and 7k lbs, so $204. As I understand it, pickups are commercial in California unless you have a permanently affixed camper (which they judge based on having a bathroom, sink, etc.), so even a camper shell would not count.

Otherwise, it should be based on price.

You can use this link to calculate DMV fees: Calculate My Fees - California DMV

For my county, I got $1,306 in registration fees and $10,500 in sales tax assuming $112k price.

In my state vehicles over 8500 GVW avoid the biggest tax on licensing for mass transit funding. 3/4 and 1 ton pickups do not pay. TRX would pay, about $1500 a year for license tabs, Hummer would be about $150
My TRX reg in CA was $1038 for 2021-2022.
Our state has a tax on vehicle value for funding of mass transit, My Tesla Y is $800 a year, and that was a $50K car new
