This is a positive development but I'm saving any real excitement for deliveries. I mean, Hummer EV SUV production is underway but where are the deliveries?

I’m very curious what this means for the as-yet undelivered Edition 1 SUTs. Will they all be 2023s, some 2024s, or will some still be called 2022s? After this much waiting, it would be pretty disappointing to be offered a 2022 when the 2024s have started production (especially since you’d be missing, for example, the two way charging and higher-kW onboard charger).

But isn't that exactly the issue? Assuming they are all built at this point, they wouldn't have the capabilities of an MY24, in which case I don't see how you could call it an MY24 short of retrofitting. Hopefully they call them all MY23s but I'm not sure there is any difference between MY22 and MY23 other than the MY itself. It sucks for all those involved but at least they are receiving highly sought after Edition 1s I guess.

There’s only one difference I’m aware of bw 22s and 23s - the six-month no-flip clause.

That said, I have no clue how hard it would be to retrofit the faster charger to actual 22s. It would be a better gift to those who’ve been waiting than a Yeti mug and extra model year-based depreciation, though!

I forgot about the no-flip clause, which, ironically, may make the MY22 more valuable in the short term since flippers could potentially sell them before 3Xs hit the market and drive up supply. Question though - didn't most people already sign the no-flip clause? If so, the time likely lapsed while they were in GMs hands unless the period only started on delivery.

I don't think there is any chance they retrofit the MY24 features on the Ed1 trucks but it sure would be a nice gesture for all those waiting.

Counter-point, if they'd just make the damned things they wouldn't need no-flip clauses. They only needed the clause because the pool of available vehicles had barely broke 500 when they implemented it, a year after production started.

Some of the first 2023 Lyriq DE buyers also are still in the no-man’s-land where their EVs were produced, then shipped to MI where they still sit in a Penske lot waiting to be “fixed“. Meanwhile, 2024 models now roll off the line and are being promptly delivered to the dealers and handed to their owners.

And this indicates all Ulitum EVs are still at limited capacity, no surprise. No Silverado production yet, and Spring ends soon.

Yeah, I thought it was INSANE they would imply they'd even acknowledge the 2X still exists, let alone build them for another year or two.
